Régie de l’énergie is an economic regulation agency that fixes and modifies the rates and conditions for the transmission of various energy distributors (electricity, gas, petroleum, etc.).

The Régie was challenged with receiving large amounts of paper documents in diverse formats from the different energy distributors in regards to public hearings on domestic price and tariff increases. They sought to increase efficiencies by moving from a manual to an electronic process while supporting their complex security and business requirements.

The Régie turned to Fusepoint to develop an e-Deposit application allowing the secure electronic transmission of documents to be available on their Website and accessible to the public in real-time. With some customization to SharePoint’s standard MOSS collaboration tools, Fusepoint developed a solution that was scalable, secure and user-friendly and would provide a smooth, easy transition for both internal and external users. The reduction in paper consumption has provided a “greener”, more efficient solution.
